Key Business Drivers
Strategic acquisitions and divestitures have transformed our Motion & Flow Control technology platform. In 2007, we sold our low-margin electronic switches business and purchased International Motion Control (IMC), a global provider of motion control products. The addition of IMC fills key technology gaps in our portfolio and enables us to move into attractive and adjacent markets.
By creating a more cohesive collection of businesses, we are better able to provide multi-product solutions in vertical markets such as aerospace. This also allows us to invest in shared manufacturing facilities in low-cost regions such as Mexico and China and to leverage our sales channels to better serve our end markets. In these ways and others, we have rebuilt our Motion & Flow Control group into a more powerful growth enterprise.
